Over the past few months, TIRED have undertaken the beginning of an important research project uncovering why there remains a lack of visibility, equitable opportunities, and support for South Asian Creatives across the industry.
As a not-for-profit organisation, TIRED depends on the generous support of people like you. We’re honoured to be working alongside an incredible volunteer, Jamie Wood, to begin this necessary research project.
We asked Jamie why he’s passionate about this specific research project, and this is what he had to say:
“Why TIRED? I support TIRED for several reasons. I wanted to help out with a Nottingham based role as I live there. Many of my friends and neighbours are from a range of heritages and I like that TIRED gives me the chance to represent their views. I also believe dance is beneficial for mental and physical health, which are things I have struggled with in the past so to promote the benefits of dance is important to me.”
“Why the research is important to me: As above! I have also seen how underrepresented sectors of my community are and want to do my bit to support them.”
“How I find working with TIRED: Stacey and Amy are a pleasure to work with – positive, proactive, professional, friendly and allowing me space to explore different ideas. I am fully involved in the planning and execution of the work which you don’t always get the opportunity with at other volunteer roles. TIRED is flexible, and we always find a way of getting from A to Z!”
Jamie’s Background: Management consultant/data and insights professional for 20 years with a focus on roles that help society, animals and/or the environment.
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Jamie for his incredible input, expertise and support with this ongoing research project.
